Executive Team

Leslie Deutchman, MS, BCBA, LABA, Executive Director
With over 35 years of experience in the field, Leslie is the President and Executive Director at APEX Behavioral Consulting. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education from the University of Vermont and her Master of Science degree from the University of Oregon. Leslie has held many positions within the field, including: teacher, therapist, researcher, consultant, program director, and now Executive Director. Her background gives her the unique ability to connect with staff, families, and other professionals at a personal level, enabling her to design individualized programs that teach socially significant skills within a nurturing, positive environment. She specializes in Direct Instruction and Verbal Behavior methodology, as well as reduction of maladaptive behavior through the use of Applied Behavior Analysis principles. Leslie is committed to excellence, and strives to provide exceptional service to enrich the lives of children with developmental disabilities and their families.

Stefanie Fillers Mitchell, MS, BCBA, LABA, Vice President, Executive Clinical Director
Stefanie received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a specialization in developmental disabilities and human services at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and her Master of Science degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Northeastern University. She is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, and has been part of the APEX Consulting team since 2007. She mentors graduate student employees and supervises new BCBA’s. She completes intakes and assessments for new clients and also presents workshops for schools, parents, and college students. Before coming to APEX, Stefanie worked in the field as a classroom supervisor, teacher, 1:1 assistant within public and private school settings. She has presented research at regional and national conferences, and is a member of APBA, ABAI, and BABAT. Stefanie specializes in toilet training, staff development, and organizational behavior management.

Andrea Rogulski, M.Ed., BCBA, LABA, Vice President, Executive Clinical Director
Andrea received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a concentration in applied behavior analysis from SUNY Binghamton, and her Master of Education degree in Special Education-Severe from Fitchburg State University. She is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Andrea has been with APEX since 2006 as a consultant and a therapist, and now the Director of Client Services. She supervises home and school ABA programs, and specializes in sleep interventions, verbal behavior procedures, and parent training. Prior to joining the APEX team, Andrea worked within public and private schools as a Behavior Analyst and Program Coordinator, primarily working with children with learning disabilities, emotional and behavioral disorders, and autism.

Supervision Team

Ali Kelleher, MS, BCBA, LABA, Clinical Director
Ali received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and a Master of Science degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Simmons College. She is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, and has been working for APEX since 2011. Ali started at APEX as a direct therapist and then came on full time as a BCBA. She is currently a Clinical Director, and is providing supervision to BCBAs. She conducts orientation for new therapists and provides CPR training to both supervisors and therapists and is a certified instructor for the American Red Cross. Before working at APEX, Ali worked as a classroom teacher in a private school setting and then a 1:1 direct therapist in a public school setting. Ali specializes in mand training, sign language, toilet training, and behavior management. In addition, Ali regularly attends regional conferences and has completed advanced workshops in verbal behavior.

Katie Cullen, MS, BCBA, LABA, Clinical Director
Katie received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Bridgewater State College and her Master of Science degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Northeastern University. Katie has been a Board Certified Behavior Analyst since 2011 and has advanced training in language development, verbal behavior, and toilet training. Katie supervises both Board Certified Behavior Analysts and mentors graduate student employees. She is a member of APBA, ABAI, and BABAT.

Kara Bayles, MS, LABA, Program Director
Kara received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Salve Regina University and her Master of Science degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Northeastern University. She is a licensed Applied Behavior Analyst. Kara has been part of the APEX Consulting team since 2009. During that time she worked as a therapist, a supervisor, and is now a program director. She conducts orientations for new therapists and provides staff and supervisor training. She is a certified instructor for Nonviolent Crisis Intervention and physical management and is also a certified instructor for the American Red Cross. Before coming to APEX, Kara worked as a classroom supervisor, teacher, 1:1 assistant at a private school for children with autism.

Krystina Kacerek, M.Ed., BCBA, LABA, Behavior Analyst
Krystina received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and her Master of Education degree in Autism and Applied Behavior Analysis from Endicott College. She is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Krystina began working for APEX in 2012 as a therapist and is now a consultant. She supervises home and school ABA programs. Before working at APEX, Krystina worked as a 1:1 instructor and assistant teacher within clinic and private school settings.

Nicole McLaine, MS, BCBA, LABA, Behavior Analyst
Nicole received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Westfield State University and her Master of Science degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Simmons College. She is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. She started working for APEX in 2012 as a direct therapist, and is now a behavior analyst. Before working for APEX, Nicole worked as an ABA instructor in a private school. Nicole regularly attends regional conferences and has completed advanced workshops in verbal behavior.

Elizabeth Gentile, MS, BCBA, LABA, Behavior Analyst
Elizabeth received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a specialization in Developmental Disabilities and Human Services from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and her Master of Science degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Simmons College. She is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Elizabeth started at APEX in 2013 as a therapist and is now a consultant. Dana Delaunay, MA, BCBA, LABA, Behavior Analyst
Dana received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and her Master of Arts degree in Psychology-Applied Behavior Analysis from University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth. Dana has been with APEX since 2013, formerly as a therapist and now as a clinical coordinator supervising home ABA programs. She has gained experience in verbal behavior methods and problem behavior interventions in the home and school settings. Before joining APEX, Dana worked as a therapist providing 1:1 services for children with developmental disabilities.

Selina Deschamps, MS, BCBA, LABA, Behavior Analyst
Selina received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Westfield State University and her Master of Science degree in Behavior Analysis from Simmons College. She is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. She joined APEX in 2011 as a therapist, and now works as a consultant supervising ABA programs. She has gained experience in verbal behavior methods and toilet training. She has attended advanced workshops in verbal behavior. Her interests in the field include problem behavior interventions and parent training. Prior to joining the APEX team, Selina worked as a teachers assistant in schools for children with developmental disabilities.

Emily Conlon, MS, BCBA, LABA, Behavior Analyst
Emily received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Springfield College and her Master of Science degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Northeastern University. She is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and has been with Apex since 2014, when she began as a therapist. Before joining the Apex team, Emily worked as a therapist providing 1:1 services at a private school for children with autism.

Lizzy Hopkins, MS, BCBA, LABA, Behavior Analyst
Lizzy received her Bachelor of Science degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences from Ohio State University and her Master of Science degree in Behavior Analysis from Regis College. She is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. She joined APEX in 2011 as a therapist and is now a behavior analyst. Prior to joining the APEX team, Lizzy worked as an assistant teacher and speech language pathology assistant at a school for children with developmental disabilities.

Kerri Cunningham MS, BCBA, LABA, Behavior Analyst
Kerri received her Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Psychology and Human Development from Boston College. She received her Master of Science degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Northeastern University. Kerri joined APEX in 2012 as a therapist and is now a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. In addition to working for the APEX team, Kerri worked as a 1:1 therapist at a school in a classroom for students with an ASD diagnosis.

Derik Martel MS, BCBA, LABA, Behavior Analyst
Derik received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth and his Master of Science degree from Bay Path University. He is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. He started working for APEX in 2013 as a direct therapist, and now is a behavior analyst. Prior to joining the APEX team, Derik worked as a therapist at a day program for adults with developmental disabilities.

Tara Edgens MS, BCBA, LABA, Behavior Analyst
Tara received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the College of Charleston. She then received her Master of Science degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Regis College. She is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Tara has been with APEX since 2013, formerly as a therapist and now as a behavior analyst. She gained experience in verbal behavior methods and behavior intervention in home and school settings. Before joining the Apex team, Tara provided home ABA services with children with developmental disabilities.

Hannah Fletcher, MS, BCBA, Behavior Analyst
Hannah received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the Georgia Institute of Technology and her Master of Science degree in Behavior Analysis from Simmons College. She is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Hannah first joined Apex as a therapist in 2014 and is now a behavior analyst. Before joining the Apex team, she provided 1:1 therapy at a school for children with developmental disabilities.

Administration

Chelsey Upton, BS, Director of Office Operations
Chelsey received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Northeastern University. Chelsey has been a part of the APEX Behavioral Consulting team since 2012 when she began as a therapist. She is now the Director of Office Operations where she oversees the office staff, manages the client insurance process, executes all accounting and finance for the business, and leads all problem solving initiatives.

Ciera Wade, BFA, Insurance Coordinator
Ciera received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Acting from Boston University. Ciera started at APEX in 2013 as an Office Assistant and now manages all insurance processes and paperwork. She coordinates with families, insurance companies, and clinicians. In her time outside of work, Ciera is an active participant in Boston’s theatre community.

Janelle Boyajian, BS, Human Resources Coordinator
Janelle is the Human Resources Coordinator at APEX Behavioral Consulting. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management: Human Resources Management from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Janelle performs a variety of duties including recruitment, selection, and hiring. Prior to joining the APEX team, her work history includes HR operations, managing new hires, and developing HR policies & procedures.

Shauna Pitman, BS, Accounts Receivable Coordinator
Shauna received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Western Michigan University. She recently moved to Boston from the Detroit area. Prior to her position at APEX, Shauna worked as a teaching assistant and behavioral coach at an elementary school.  At APEX, her duties include verifying and processing incoming accounts and insurance payments. In her free time, she enjoys exploring and learning about her new city.
